    Choosing the Best Tech Tool; This Rubric provides guiding thoughts on choosing the best tech tool(s) for your classroom.

Intended Purpose
Research -- this tool is for your personal use only to find information on a particular topic.
Store -- this tool is for your use only. It allows you to save links, documents videos and other items found while researching. Check how much space is available to you. And what are you storing? Bookmarking (i.e. Diigo) File Storage (i.e. Dropbox), Website (i.e. Wikispaces, Weebly)
Share -- this tool is a step up from 'Store' not only does it allow you to save your research, it also allows you to create batches or files of saved information by category that you can then share with others. You should be able to control the share settings / allowing 'read (or view) only' or editing.
Teach -- This tool allows you and your students to interact with content. It may include tools to track usage and goals. Look for accessibility features.
Skills Required
Minimal -- Little tech skill needed. Cut / paste; Install a toolbar and click.
Simple -- Minimal skills PLUS ability to manipulate content for organization & storage. Create labels / tags; Upload docs, images, URLs etc.
Moderate -- Simple PLUS ability to design content to be used by others; Create multiple pages / resource bundles within tool; Set sharing access, invite other users.
Advanced -- Moderate PLUS ability to maintain a vibrant space; Use tool to interact with other users; Create an ongoing Web presence (blog, photos etc.) Manage user accounts.

Availability / Trifecta
None -- access only on specified computer (C-Drive, Internet Explorer Favorites / Bookmarks) Must transfer to jump drive to access content on a different computer.
Web application. Can access via any Internet connection. No local storage.
Web application with 'client' piece. Download and install tool on any computer. Content saved via the tool is automatically updated on the Internet & vice versa. (i.e. Dropbox)
Web Application, Client piece PLUS Mobile App. This tool allows for seamless access and interaction between all devices you and your students use.
