Waypoint is Web-based software from Subjective Metrics, Inc., designed to
help teachers extend their RubiStar rubrics and to create feedback for their
students more efficiently and effectively.
Waypoint takes rubric off the printed page and makes them interactive, so teachers can pre-write
much of the feedback they know they will give to students.
Creating feedback is as easy as checking options
on a webpage and modifying pre-written text where appropriate.
All feedback created with Waypoint is automatically quantified and stored
for easy access from any Internet-enabled computer. Teachers can also give
their students access to Waypoint to structure the peer review process -
helping students internalize the goals of a particular assignment by actively
reviewing each other's work.
Waypoint can be easily integrated with the Blackboard Learning Management System,
Moodle Course Management System, or other LMS platform to provide faculty with single
sign-on, roster synchronization, and the ability to return feedback and grades
created with Waypoint to an online gradebook.
Proprietary WpOutcomes software makes it easy for administrators to analyze aggregate data,
cross demographic data with student achievement data, and perform sophisticated longitudinal
studies of student learning.
Waypoint advances the idea of a rubric and the RubiStar team is happy to announce our new
partnership. We are still committed to providing RubiStar to our users for free, but we
wanted to let you know about this new resource and its rubric enhancing features.
Waypoint is only available as a Site License. Site Licenses can be created for individual
schools, colleges, or universities.
