Student Behavior
The student remained on task the entire time and used their time efficiently. He/she followed all classroom rules, participated in discussions and completed his/her work on time.
The student was on task and made efficient use of their time for the most part. He/she participated occasionally in classroom discussions and completed his/her work in a reasonable amount of time.
The student was not on-task for the majority of the time and had difficulty following classroom rules and procedures. He/she participated minimally and did not make efficient use of his/her time.
The student was not on task and did not follow classroom rules. He/she did not participate and did not complete his/her work in a reasonable amount of time.
Student Attitudes
The student maintained a positive attitude throughout the creative process and was able to develop his/her own original idea and sees the value in taking risks in art and using materials and ideas in innovative ways.
The student maintained a positive attitude for the most part and handled any frustrating parts of the project well (i.e. by asking for ideas/help, developing a new method, etc.) He/she exhibited creativity and originality and shows some understanding of the value of these traits in an artist.
The student was frustrated with a part of his/her project. He/she did not attempt to find an alternative solution. Much of the student's work is a copy of the teacher sample or the work of another student.
The student's attitude throughout this project was poor. the student did not apply him/herself and did not attempt to develop an original solution to the art issue presented.
Achieved Understanding of Concept
The student demonstrates mastery of the concept(s) and technical skill(s) presented. He/she is able to demonstrate mastery through demonstration and discussion.
The student demonstrates mastery of the concept(s) presented. he/she is still working on the technical skill, but is able to explain the concept when prompted.
The student has not quite mastered the concept(s) presented. He/she is able to describe some of the idea, but some major factors of the concept are missing.
The student demonstrates no mastery of the concept(s) and technical skill(s). He/she is unable to discuss any aspect of the concept even with cues and prompts provided.
