Project Description
|
We live in a community. The Pilgrims also lived in a community. What are the parts that make up your community? What was the Pilgrim community like? How are these communities the same and different? We will be exploring and comparing our community and the Pilgrim's community. Each student will individually create a poster display containing five objects representing your community. Each object should have a paragraph explaining its significance in your community. Pretend you are a pilgrim child and write about a day in your life. Create a "double bubble" map comparing your community with the pilgrim community.

Teacher Tips | This is part of a Communities Past and Present unit. I feel this part was very successful. If I had to change anything, I would give the kids a little more time. The whole project is online, with links to resources, too.
